Hi,

I planning to buy a Leader 05' 735r frame and built it up myself. This is going to be my first road bike so I'm wondering if you guys have any experience with this brand?

Frame Info
This 735R is made of double butted U.A.L. T6 ultralight aluminum alloy. 50cm is under 2.7lb. CNC machined replaceable derailleur hanger. Hand smooth welding all around. 100% Shimano compatibility STI top shifters only. Great for Campynolgo ergo shift group too. 735r is also the best when it comes to racing geometry. Constructed from our new U.A.L. aluminum you get the extremely lively feel of aluminum with the body saving dampening system of our seat s-bend seat stays and bi-oval tubing.Whether you're a crit specialist, double century super stud or you live anywhere in between, this is the bike for you. You can fill every one of your sick little riding needs without breaking the bank.

I have the frame with the carbon rear triangle (785R I think but cannot remember for sure). I have had it for 4 years now and it's been a great bike. I was even tempted lately to get another 05 model as a crash replacement frame since they are on such a good discount right now.

I've just finished building up my first road bike (come from the MTB side of things) and used a Leader 716R frame. So far, I've only been on two rides with it but I love it. I must also say that they have great customer service. When installing my seatpost, I over-torqued the clamp bolt and it stripped the threads. I called up Leader USA and they sent me a brand new clamp for free. And that's not all, I desperately needed the clamp in time for a triathlon this weekend so they even shipped it 2-day air. All in all, I'd say you can't go wrong. :D

Hello,

What headset do you guys use?

I'm actually buying the 735TT frame package from them next week. Someone locally has one and loves it. I want to build up a TT bike and it's a good deal for what you get.

The one that came with mine was a cane creek.

Cane Creek IS-2 and IS-6 will fit just about all Leader frames. FSA has some headsets that will work too.
