why are most jerseys lame?

I dont understand why every company that makes graphic jerseys cater to maybe 20% of riders. Basically the jist of every jersey is either retro wool, all over "i rock" graphics, or ones that its hard to get a scope on why they are considered funny. Besides solid colors, it seems like there needs to be some more decent jerseys out there.

What's wrong with my Cookie Monster jersey? Are you saying that Cookie Monster is lame? I hope not...you know you want one...that's right. Remember, all you really need to know is this; repeat after me:

"C is for cookie
that's good enough for me

cookie cookie cookie
starts with C"

This has been brought to you by the number 23.

I can't agree more. The only jerseys I've found that I would wear are an Iowa Hawkeyes one that I haven't got a chance to order yet and I will of course wear the jersey of a club/team I am a member of.

My most recent purchase:

I like visibility first and foremost. I have a couple of solid color jerseys, a couple with graphics that create a visible contrast, and a couple that I just plain like. There's plenty of solid color or 2/3 color jerseys out there but they are generally sold under house brands.

I liked the Primal Wear "Rat Pack" jersey. Yes, it's an all-over graphic, but I think it looks pretty decent.

At least it's not a "team" replica. I really do get tired of seeing those.

I'm not much for the team jerseys. There are plenty of non team jerseys that look pretty cool.

1) Most brewery jerseys.
2) Voler makes some nice plain jerseys.
3) PI has quite a few decent looking jerseys. Plus I want their oscar the grouch jersey.

I have more jerseys that I want than money.

Hold your order. Get the real deal at:
www.bicycle-gifts.com/colljers/ap41.htm

Almost as good as their no-name plain jane football uniforms

I have to hear the Hawkeye Heathen everyday. Luckily I have strong loyalty to the best.

Never seen them go over 20. The last time "C" was featured it was brought to you by "10". This was their 35th anniversary episode. Yes, I'm just about maxed-out on SS now. Hmm. Maybe I do need that jersey. It would make my daughter *so* jealous. If only jerseys would smell like cookies ...

I knew a lady in Colorado Springs that custom made Jerseys. Problem solved. I prefer solid colors.

How do you know that the jerseys made cater to a small percentage of the cycling population? If, as you contend, 80% of cyclists want a different style of jersey than is available, then there is a LOT of money to be made by somebody.

I suspect that the jersey offerings actually cater to 80% of the cycling population with you being in the 20% that cannot find either a leopard print or plaid jersey. However, there is hope for you. Just find at least nine other cyclists who share your taste and send your order to Champion Systems and you can all ride in your own unique style.

With all those underserved cyclists out there, it shouldn't be too hard.

Agreed most are lame. But you won't see fewer lame jerseys until cyclists stop buying them even at giveaway sales.

The LBS stills makes money with 60% discounting. If you want better, stop buying junk.

+1

I generally hate logos and team jerseys. And all those "X-TREME" graphics. Like whoa... Your LBS should have something for you. Here are a couple I found the other day. HTH

I wish someone would make retro looking jerseys in modern fabrics. I like the design and colors and logos some of the old retro wool ones but won't wear wool (it's itchy).

Only cheap wool is itchy.

But expensive wool might as well be made of gold for what they charge for it.

I like the simple jerseys too. But many don't fit me right. I like the way the cannondale jersey fits. Simple design. and not too expensive.
