Looking for Halo Headband feedback.
 

I'm trying to find something that keeps the sweat out of my eyes. I've seen this particular one. Has anyone used this one or recommendations of others you've used and had luck with. I've tried regular sweat bands but they are too thick to fit under helmet.

The Halo works well for me. It's thin, the rubber (?) strip seems to work as advertised. However, I'm in the deep south, with temp & humidity often both in the 90's. I swamp any sweat band ever made, but the Halo holds out longer.

You might try a sweat gutr http://www.sweatgutr.com/ . I tried one, and it worked as advertised, but it was not comforatble for me were ti based over my ears, due to my Bell helmet riding low.

I hear ya. I tried a headband, too.

I have one. So far as sweat control goes, it's as good as any; better than some. The only colors I could find were black, and white.

Personally, I prefer Headsweats' Coolmax Classic, but that's style. The Headsweats has longer ties, but again, that's a matter of taste. Also, as a matter of taste, I do not like the Headsweats "Shorty". One size fits all, but it's elastic instead of tied, and I'm just not comfortable wearing it. They will all fit under a helmet. All of the above do a better job of cooling than bare headed, by the way.

Dang, but it's hard to believe what they charge for such a dinky little piece of cloth, isn't it.

Yeah it is incredible what they charge. That's why I want to at least get something that works if I'm gonna spend the money.

i have some halo headbands and like them... but then.... i also like my cheap performance brand coolmax headbands!

Um, well if the Performance brand isn't really thick and bulky, I might give it a try, though I'm pretty well stocked up on boonie rags and stuff.

the performance ones are very thin.... color section's not to great (i got mine a while ago.. basically blue... that was ok then... i had a blue bike and helmet... red or white....) haven't looked for them in a while...

i got the halo's cuz they had black and i needed black for my black helmet *rolls eyes* lol!

Been riding and commuting with them this summer...not that impressed. Once they get saturated, they seem to hold the sweat more than my other sweatbands/doorags. They don't seem to allow it to evaporate as well for sure. So at some point in every ride, once the halo band gets saturated, from then on the sweat just pours down from all angles, like water dripping down from a sponge. My doorags don't do that. They seem to be able to wick the moisture better and to allow it to evaporate.

I use a Halo and it works well for the first hour or so, then you either have to wring it out or put up with sweat running down the sides. Especially if you get tired and put your head down or ride in the drops a lot. Still better than anything else I've tried.

I have two Halos. They are not perfect, but it is the best solution I have experienced, and I have tried a lot of different headbands.

What I do is wring one Halo out when it is very saturated, hang it in two loops around my handlebar to dry out, and wear the second one. I have used this solution on centuries, and it is an almost perfect solution. As one person pointed out, they do get saturated, and when they do, sweat can find their way around the rubber channels.

I am still angry though that they charge $12.95 for those little dinky headbands. I hated paying for them, but what can I do? I sometimes feel like a sucker, for being a bicyclist. At least that is the way the bicycle industry vendors make me feel sometimes, due to their price gouging. Sorry for the rant.

Headsweats Shorty...fits good and thin enough so that no helmet adjustment was needed.

It does what it was designed to do.

I tried the Halo for a few months but the humidity and my ability to sweat overwhelmed it. I now use the Headsweats coolmax from performance. Works the best so far.
