Calling cateye double wireless cyclometer experts
Stuck and cateye customer service is out to lunch all day.
The manual for this CC-CD300DW is just to hard to figure out, besides being in 6 point font. Had to blow it up 150% in order to read the blasted thing.
Questions for any experts:
1. how do you reset the total time? only thru formatting?
2. how do you reset lap data to 0's?
3. how do you reset cadence data to 0's?
4. how do you flip it into sleep mode?
5. How do you get Avg speed thingy to work?
6. The tire circumfernce table shows mm rollout for
700x30 as 2170 and 700x32 as 2155 but my rollout showed
700x30 as 2130 and 700x32 as 2145
Do different makes of tires vary that much?
Figured this was a long shot, but maybe someone can help so I can use this new toy correctly this weekend.

Sorry to tell you, but my cateye has a wire (2 really), and obviously less functions than yours. That is, cadence, elapsed time, and everything else except the clock and odometer are zeroed when I push the button below the display while pushing the button that faces the rider, which I'm tempted to call the "bottom" of the instrument. Also, I keep mine set on "Auto". All other displays go to sleep automatically, except the clock. This isn't enough electricity to matter. Now, remember, I have the wired model, and my comments may have no application at all.
On rollout, go with your actual measurement. Not sure, but I believe 700x30 tires can have several different profiles.
I can relate to the frustration, but believe me, Cateye is far from the worst.

A. Not sure, but it probably has to do with battery removal over time.
2. how do you reset lap data to 0's?
A. Place it into lap mode (by pressing the MODE 1 and MODE 2 buttons at the same time), then press the Mode 1 and START/ENTER buttons at the same time. Return it to normal mode by pressing the Mode 1 and Mode 2 buttons at the same time.
3. how do you reset cadence data to 0's?
A. Cadence is always 0 in the realtime setting when the crank is not being spun. The other settings (AV, MX, Total) are reset by pressing the Mode 1 and START/ENTER buttons at the same time while in normal mode.
4. how do you flip it into sleep mode?
A. You can't. It will do it on it's own.
5. How do you get Avg speed thingy to work?
A. Average speed is shown while in the normal mode and by pressing the Mode 2 button to navigate to it. It's labeled Avs and appears with Max speed Mxs.

A. Use actuals if available. Actuals are dependent on your weight on the tires and the amount of pressure in the tires.

A. They vary in the amount of tire patch in contact with the road, which depends on the width of the tires, pressure placed in the tires, and your weight on the tires.

1. To reset the total time and distance you need to format. (Press the menu and restart buttons simultaneously, and release the restart button.) This resets all data to zero. To reset all but total time and distance and wheel circumference you need to restart. (Press the restart button.) You do this when replacing the battery. Follow the instructions above from NoRacer to reset speed, cadence, laps etc.

Ok great answers. There is something that turns on sleep mode, as I did it accidently. I just don't know the combo of start/mod1/mod2 buttons. It may be it has to be held for 1 or 2 seconds. Not in manual.
All answers make sense except for AVS. I'm having a hard time getting AT to be active and don't understand now to turn on the timer manually.
I'm changing tires tomorrow anyway so a reformat will not be bad.

Reformat worked, but still have one problem. Can't turn sound off for cadence zone.
Settings are:
Cdc on
be off
enter
and still audio icon is on.
I want audio off to save batteries and blinking on when out of cadence zone.

The alarm sound setup (blinking speaker icon) should be "Cdc off". The "be on/off" refers to button operation sound, not alarm sound.
BTW, if you haven't found it yet, you can download a PDF of the manual.... much easier to read than the booklet. I blow it up to 200% and the english side of the page fills the whole screen.

I found the manual and did 150% on copier so I could read it. Ah, Be is for remote and not beep. The none numbers are very difficult to figure out.

Toughest part on my wired version was setting the clock. It helped to get out the sissors, and cut and paste (litterly) the English portions onto a sheet of paper by themselves.
