laundry soap?

I'll be washing my clothes in creeks, rivers, lakes, random host homes, sinks, etc. With this being the case, what is the best type of soap to use for hand wash?

Bad experiences? Good ones? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

You should be using a biodegradable soap. I have used Campsuds with success. Cleans everything from clothes, and dishes, to hair. It's concentrated, so you only have to carry a small bottle.

Perfect! I'm placing my order now. :)

Thanks!

You shouldn't be using any soap at all in a body of water. Doesn't matter how "friendly" it is. Get a bucket or bag of water, put soap and laundry in it, wash and then empty/rinse over land.

Well I wasnt exactly planning on dumping the soap in the water, rather, I was making the point that I won't be doing laundry in regular machines.

Sorry for the mix up. :o

Dr. Bronner's Castille soap! Biodegradable, cleans anything and everything. Comes in a variety of scents, you can buy it at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc.

I've used DB Castile for years but I dont like the way it *cleans* clothing. It's for sure my favorite soap for hygiene though...
