What's it worth

A mate has a 03 Jamis Eclipse (excellent cond) frame w/forks and headset, for sale. Can anyone tell me what I should pay.

Excellent condition- half of what it was bought for in 03 or half what you could get it for new in one of the clearance warehouses. Whichever is the cheaper.

Cheers stapfam... he didn't buy it, it was a gift, a complete bike that didn't really fit him. He's taken everything off except the forks and wants to sell the frame. I have enough spares to build a complete bike ('cos I don't have enough bikes ). It's a perfect fit for me and I don't have a steel bike... but I want to give him a fair price. I saw a complete 2003 Jamis Eclipse (new old stock) for around US$1200... so $600????

Do an "advanced search" on e-Bay and check the "completed listings only" box. Look at what other frames of that make and model sold for. That's your price.
