Worst ride yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I took the kids and my wife to the end of the Cohutta National Forest to ride a 1 1/2 mile old gravel road bed that leads to an old firetower. It looks off 4000+ feet on the town of Dalton Ga. The road is not steep at all. Mabey a 1 -2% grade? ... Less than 1 minute into the ride, my wife starts griping about it being to steep and is there any other eaiser places we can ride. I said no this is about as easy as it gets in this area. She knows that but complained anyhow. It took seriously almost 2 hours to do the ride because of her complaining and stopping every 100-200 feet. This is a person who rode over 20 miles on steeper trails on our very first ride 2 months ago. So finally we got close to the tower, and I told her I was going ahead and Ild be there waiting for her. I got there and climbed the tower and yehaw!!, a huge black and purple colored storm was about 2000ft out comming right at us. I was thinking great, this is just what I need. I climb down and ride as hard as I could back towards them. I meet them just as it starts raining. The wind picked up and was blowing hard, trees were bending way over. I said to turn around and go back. I was informed they ran into a wild hog about 400 pounds down the road. So we had a lightning storm, wind, rain and now a hog that likes to gut anything that moves waiting on us. I tell them all to stay close together so we appear bigger than it does and keep moving. We didnt see the hog, thank God, but couldnt see the road much either due to the rain. We finally made it to the jeep and went home. I dont want to ride with my wife anymore.
