Wrap around prescription sunglasses - good brands?
Getting ready to get a new eye exam and prescription for my glasses and I want to get some wrap around sunglasses with my new prescription. I currently wear tri-focals with clip on sunglass for driving and bikeing but the wind give me fits when biking. Would like some wrap around to help fight the wind and dust. I do not plan to get my sunglasses in a tri-focal but I would like a bi-focal if possible
Can anyone recommend a good brand or know of any brands to avoid?

Are you sure there are any? You might have to go with an insert in a more conventional lens. I think I heard something about this, but not sure of my facts.

Not sure about wraparounds.
I use the Bolle Parole glasses with Px inserts. https://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/cl...1_1628crx.aspx
They shield your eyes well from debris and are really light. I'd rather have a pair of sunglasses that were slightly smaller and more "stylish" but needing a prescription limits your choices.

there's a nice low profile smith system now.
I personally still get my scrip lenses put in Ray Ban RXable sunglasses frames (available at lenscrafters, of all places) but I'm not wearing bifocals yet. i bet they have the technology - i've got six pairs at least, all kinds of tints and clears...

Mate, Unless it's a fashion statement you need to make consider these
"fit-overs" when you bike. I wear them since my eye surgery finding them
to be perfect for wind , dirt, and polariztion at a price that let's me put
my money into my main glasses. Try a pair since the price is right.

What I wear......

P.S. Polycabonate lens is "bulletproof" plastic so with these a rock will have a tough time getting
to your eyes.

I have bought several pair of wrap arounds. One problem with longevity. Those with foam like, glued on noise pieces. They come unglued quickly being subjected to all the sweat. ONce, the noisepiece fails, you are subjected to the plastic gouging into your noise. I don't like that. Seems you can't replacet that noise piece. Better to buy a better constructed pair.

I have had a pair of oakley minute prescription frames for 5 years now and they feel like they'll last another 5 easy (and they've been through hell and back)

My wife has a pair of smith super methods (also prescription) which might be better for bifocals since the lens space is bigger.

I've learned not to chince on sunglasses because it sucks replacing them.

Polaroid brand, prescription lenses. I took a 8 day trip, 930km with bright sunshine all day every day this summer and these glasses made it a lot more enoyable.

Thanks all for the good links. Get my new prescription next week and will see if I can fit within the limits these glasses have. I noted that Bolle could accomodate a bifocal in their Bolle Spiral model. Hope I can make something work for me.
