Look around. They are still being worn, just not by Hollywood types. For them, Livestrong is 'so thirty minutes ago'.

I still wear mine in memory of my father who died last year after four year fight with liver cancer, in memory of two friends who have died of melanoma, and to remind me to take care, after three surgeries for skin cancer.

I will wear one as long as I can get them or until a cure is found.

I wore mine up until I started to work for a new company a year ago - they are not allowed to be worn in the building. Something about how the silicone could react with our manufacturing process (don't ask me for details, I'm just an accountant ).

It's a bummer.

I still wear mine:

For my Mom who beat her thyriod cancer in 1936 and lived another 50 years in spite of the rigors of raising three of the most difficult kids ever to inhabit the planet. Thanks Mom.

For my Dad who beat prostate cancer for the last 7 years of his life and died while napping in his recliner of a heart attack at the age of 87. Thanks Dad.

For my cousin Andrea who was one year older than me and died too soon, at the age of 56 of colon cancer. Goodbye Andrea.

For my Brother who is the same age as Andrea and has survived his prostate cancer one year post surgery with a PSA of zero. Way to go John.

For myself. I am scheduled for a radical prostatectomy at 10:30 on monday morning, October 2, 2006. Wish me luck.

Even though I was somewhat used to folks around me having cancer, nothing in my 61 years has had the impact of those three words... "you have cancer". I reached out to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for help and within hours was contacted by a Social Worker and provided with a ton of useful information that has helped me to deal with all aspects of surviving this disease. I am grateful for their help and will wear the wristband to remind me of my family members who have won the fight and those who have not.

And for myself.

Still wear mine

I haven't been without one since they came out.

1 wear it for my mother, who we lost on July 14 to Ovarian Cancer. MissYa

I wear it for myself, 18 year survivor of Rhabdomyosarcoma.

I wear it for anyone with Cancer and their families.

It may be hollywood for some but not for me.

I don't wear the bracelets, but have and continue to support the Livestrong Foundation. I prefer to be an anyomous donor. I have always felt that too many people use the bracelets, stickers etc for a "look at me, aren't I special". So I support but don't advertise
