n00b question about floor pumps.

My floor pump has two little knobs on the bottom by the indicator, what are they for?

Those are the "Too Little" and "Too Much" marks.

My pump has them too. There are two screws that go into them from underneath. I think that's just part of what holds to gauge assembly together.
