American Made In More Ways Than One - The continuing Burley saga

In response to jmR&D :
"One thing worse would be if any of the handful of dirt bag cooperative wreckers get to keep their jobs, but that's another story."

How dare you question the great American corporation tradition of screwing the rank and file workers!!! This is the American way, my friend. What are you ... a hippie "girlie man" (with apologies to Velonomad)?

Hey, if a couple of sales and marketing types - along with a disgraced CEO now gone it appears - can find a way to put more money in their pockets while giving the heave-ho to former bike and sewing production co-workers (who were the true worker bees of the Burley business), who are you to complain? They didn't go to jail did they for their behavior? Heck, they only added to the unemployment rolls of the local economy - what's truly wrong with that?

With the extra dollars in their wallets, the responsible managers can now afford plenty of the best quality sleeping pills money can buy - which should make sleeping at night a bit easier I reckon. Look at the high price they have to pay when going out in public to shop or having to face former friends in the cycling community; surely this must be worth the salaries they paid themselves? Like hjeand observes, your view jm is just plain dribble. I wasted 5 minutes of my life reading your post (I read a bit faster it seems than hjeand, so at least it wasn't 10 minutes of wasted life).

What dja think was goin' on?

From Krispistofferson in the other Burley thread.

What I've always found strange is that there are a couple of posters who only come out of the woodwork to advise us of Burley's woes as a company. Anybody else noticed this?

Threads on the bike forum

It's always entertaining to read various thoughts on the more controversial threads that are posted on the Bike Forum. That's why I finally joined. Thing is, it seems to me if you don't want to read a particular thread (or "don't care" as slow and steady claims), you can simply ignore the thread, and choose not to read it. Simple as that.

There are plenty of threads I personally choose not to pursue; some I just "don't care" about, or they don't have much relevance to me or my riding (such as the over 50 forum, or recumbents for example). But, please, don't put words in my mouth for your pwn objectives about what people care about and what they don't. This is the only place that a newbie to the sport like myself can get inside perspective on the bike retail business - right or wrong. But any intelligent person can sort through the various perspectives and make up their minds on their own.

Alright I totally agree with you. But, this guy has some kind of an agenda to appears out of nowhere to have a seemingly one way conversation with Burley. Frankly its a little weird.

I like fish. oh....and geraniums.
Just not at the same time. They explode. It's a freaking conspiracy!
