Neat and easy way to oil chain.
I saw at my LBS, the owners bike had this small glass bottle (5oz.?) attached to the back of the seatpost. It had a tube running from the bottom of it down to the back derailer and hung about 1/4" from the chain. He pressed a valve on the tube and it let oil drain from the bottle to the chain as he rode, drops at a time whenever he needed it. i thought it was neat.

Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

hello
Sorry....I don't think it's a neat and easy way to keep a bicycle drivetrain lubricated. I think he has it set up there merely as a conversation piece.....

Or to sell a lot of degreaser... That lube is going to be all over everything. Reminds me of the "total loss" oiling systems early internal-combustion engines used. No recirculation...Oil went from the pump directly to the ground....

Popular with the moto folks. Might do it on a touring bike in some serious $hit.
Edit: This could be genious on my winter commuter!

Inteseting link, Mike.Did you happen to notice their Crampbuster cruise control setup while you were there. Lets you lock open the throttle on your motorcycle.

it is good to set a 'scott oiler type' system for a winter slush bike,
or for an 'mtb race or epic' in pure glop....otherwise it is overkill
moto oilers use vacuum to tell it to work or not, bikes need gravity feed and a valve

I just use one of these. Neat, clean, and I can lube 48,572,113 chains all at once.
