I have no idea why I see the images in triplicate when edit shows them in the message once. hopefully it'll fix itself.

ahh, those europeans....

I wish more cars had facilities like that for a bike rack, especially American cars. That foldout rack is a work of art, pure and simple.

I'd like to see a bike on it. Still trying to visualize how the bike sits on it.

*sigh* Why does Europe always get all the cool cars/car stuff?

Check the link, it has more pictures. The vehicle is essentially the same as the Saturn Vue, so it may in fact come to the U.S....maybe.

It looks to me like the left crankarm is inserted into one of those vertical tubes and the two tires are strapped onto the horizontal extensions.

I agree it is a very neat design. The obvious drawback is the cost. I'm estimating around $30,000 to $40,000 counting the vehicle that it's part of.

Remeber, Opel is owned by General Motors.

Seems like a good idea, but hope it only goes wrong under the warranty period. Heard about this earlier in the year- but the model it is fitted to is one of the top end models and is not a standard fitting. It has to be ordered on a new vehicle and I think the cost for retro fitting would blow my cycling budget for the next 5 years.
