Branford Bike Update - Best Wishes, Tim!

As some of you may know, Branford Bike and Timothy Brockett's home were destroyed in the Big Creek wildfire in Montana earlier this year. Here is a link from earlier this year that first made me aware of this sad news:

I had the chance to meet Timothy Brockett several years ago and have kept in touch with him on and off since our paths first crossed. He sent me an email today, and I am sharing part of it with the Bike Forum to give you an update on the status of Branford Bike.

Tim writes:
"Branford Bike, as we knew it, is gone. I must build a new life and a new home which fortunately will consume most of my time over the next 6 to 12 months. Keeping busy will not allow me time to think about the fire. It is a memory that I hope fades quickly. However a newer Branford Bike may emerge from the ashes like a Phoenix of mythological lore. I put a page on the site about the sale of Branford Bike. Here is the link:

Please pass the link on via e-mail, newsgroups, etc. I would like to see someone purchase it by the end of the year. Whomever purchases it, I will work closely with, to see that they know the business as well as I did. It was a fun job, I earned a good income and was able to do something I enjoyed. Now I have other work to do so someone else can experience the pleasure and satisfaction of Branford Bike.

Thanks again for your e-mail, your words of support. Both are greatly appreciated."

Thanks for the update, Timothy. I wish you the best of luck as I am sure many other BF'ers do, too!

I wish I had the 150k for the shop... I'd move it to Johnson City in Texas (think Lyndon Baines Johnson), as that region is very sparse on bicycle stores (closest bike shops I located were in Marble Falls, Fredricksburg, and Blanco). Add some type of locksmith, and its something that would keep a decent income, both by mail order, and by local patronage.
