Lotek goes to the great white north

So I walk into the office today, having a really bad
day before it even started and one of the managers
says "I have an assignment for you" as this isn't my manager
I'm like, ok, whats this all about?
I will be doing 2 quick trips to Toronto each about
a week long (won't have time for biking, all business).
First one late April, and another early June (and a possible
third end of June, early July)
Since I can't ride are there any nice LBSs I could find after work?
I'll post more details as I receive them. . .

Marty

My daughter was living on TO until a couple of years ago, and I went to a very nice shop on Avenue Rd a couple of blocks N of Bloor St. Near where she lived there were 3 bike shops on Bloor West between High Park and Jane St. This is also a nice area for visiting (restaurants, bookshops etc.)

Here Lotek is some info on Toronto bike shops, if I think of anything else I will add to this later. I lived in Toronto for years and loved it, I am sure you will really enjoy you time there. PM me if you need more specific info.

La Bicicletta is a boutique for road enthusiasts. They also have a shop in Buffalo NY. and mail order, worth cheeking out if you are into high-end road bikes. Unfortunately their location is out of the way.

Queen St. West is a good area to go for a meal, drink or people watch. If you walk from Yonge Street down towards Bathurst Street you should find a four of five bike shops.

Dukes Cycle on Queen St. West is a good place to have a look for bikes.

Urban Cyclist Workers Co-op is a must visit on 180 John St. just off Queen St. West they have cruisers, recumbents, tour bikes and lots of interesting gear.

Mountain Equipment Co-op has bike parts and heaps of outdoor goods; it is King St. West off of John Street. This area is also good for outdoors stuff, bars and restaurants.

Have a look here at the Toronto Bicycle Network for all the bike shop info you will ever need. TBN Retailers

Even if you can't ride you can at least hook up with some Toronto BFers for a Labatt's or something!

Yeah, I loved Urban Cyclist Co-Op-looks like the kind of place we could use here. Unfortunately, it was past closing time on a Sunday last time I was in that neighbourhood...
