Probaby the hardest lesson I learned as a shop rat was to NOT put aluminum frames into a workstand by the seat tube. Made a square tube out of a round one. Man was that customer pissed off! First paycheck $0.00. and second and third! I did get the damaged frame out of the deal. Rode it for years. Ended up getting hit by a car and the guys insurance replaced it. (not totally of course)

Duh, forgot about the suspension fork I bought for my wife's bike. Let's just say I forgot about the "measure twice, cut once" rule when it came to cutting the steerer tube to length.

Mine was fitting the official Cannondale rear lockout lever to my Gemini 1000. Over time it became less and less reliable. I ripped it off the bar this weekend and switched back to the Fox lever my shock had originally. Much better so that's one maintenance blunder I'll file for future reference.

a2p, it's all relative. Even though it was too short for your wife's bike, it was in fact correctly cut to size for someone elses bike. You just planned ahead so to speak!:)
