Favorite socks

there seem to be plenty of opinions and threads on jerseys and shorts, I thought I'd open it up for some deep thoughts on your favorite socks (or "favourite" for our anglophile friends)

while I'm not one to sport a flashy jersey (although I have been pondering the sweet Major Taylor jersey I saw on here recently) I do enjoy a fun creative bike sock. I'm more or less as against being a rolling billboard as some others on this forum but fun socks that mention bikes/companies/charities that I beleive in I can't resist. I've got a great pair of New Belgium Fat Tire socks as well as some Rollo The Clown Bianchi socks and some Livestrong socks... I was wondering if there are some particularly good stores/sites to browse for other fun socks or just your particular favorites that you've picked up along the way....

Anything off the wall and/or goofy. Currently, I have chili peppers, Kokipelli X2, rasta smiley, a cyclist, Yellow Roads of Texas, a peace symbol ($25 a day fine), and a retro Cannondale logo.

smartwool white (with the little smartwool guy on the side in black).

I don't mind graphics, I have quite a few DeFeet socks, but the smartwool
is just better in every way (except flash).

Black no show defeet aireators or black no show champion socks from target. When cold I throw a pair of wool socks over them. Nothing looks quite as amusing as tights with no show socks. Showing a little ankle. I do not care for socks with designs on them.
I really should pick up a pair or two of longer poly champion socks.

Now that I have some high quality wool socks (wigwam & smartwool) I really, really like wool socks. I now wear them whenever I can. They are soft, stay dry, and are just so much more comforable than cotton socks even just wearing them to the office. I never even realized how moist regular socks get even just wearing them doing nothing special until I went with the wool socks. So much better. I have two pairs and have to get more.

I know everyone loves the smartwool, but I actually like my wigwam socks better. No one seems to mention this brand. They seem to wick better and are warmer even though they are thinner than the smartwool. But I am just being picky. They are both great.

I tend towards workwear instead of bikewear in certain categories. Socks is definitely where I stick with a good pair of wool blend boot socks over silk liners. With my PI tights, I kinda resemble Olivia Newton-John in those old 80's workout vids - only so very, very wrong.

Eurosocks Ghost Cool Sock

I have found them to be the most comfortable and cool socks in the market, and low cuts are the best.
