Old Team clothing?
What do you guys do with old team clothing after you have left a team? I feel weird riding in it since I'm no longer a member, am I weird for feeling uncomfortable riding in team clothing that I'm no longer apart of anymore? Just wondering what you guys do since I'm sure a few of you have switched between teams before for one reason or another.

You can never have enough rags when it comes time to work on your bike..

Wear it only during night rides with no moon.

I don't have any team clothing, but I guess it would depend on why I left the team. If I left on good terms I'd probably continue to wear it as a reminder of the good times & as a badge of honor. If it was on bad terms, I can always use another rag to help wash my bike, etc.

Rats, I thought I was going to get to mention the jerseys I have that belonged to Jaque Boyer.
Guess I'll just go polish my Oldnago. |
hope i can have one...
after that i will tell u what i will do ...... lol |
Keep the old shorts for the trainer.

I just keep wearing them, I mean it's not like I'm pro and signed a contract with that team or teams to wear the gear for a certian time period, I can understand if you did have a contract or were pro, then it'd be different, but I'm not, so if it's not worn out, I just keep wearing it.

I've only ever raced for one team, back when I was a junior about 16 years ago. I've always held onto that and my Empire States Game jersey for sentimental purposes (after all, I earned both through hard work). My old team, Island Racing Club, which hailed from eastern Long Island, is forever alive with me via a bright jersey with late 80s garishness of neon pink and yellow. I actually wear it after all of my other jerseys find thier way into the laundry.
And besides, I'm sure even Mr. Lemond will break out an old ADR or Team Z jersey every now and then... |
