Newbie Trainer Computer Combo Question

I just went and purchased a trainer from Performance Bike and realized my computer is hooked up to my front wheel. I'm a runner who converted to triathlon this year and I'm anal retentive about logging all of my workouts with distance/time and ocasionally heart rate data. What do most do? Forget about it and just record time, estimate the distance or switch the computer to my back wheel?

Regards,
Bill

I'm lookin at my first trainer at this is one of the first thoughts I had too....looks like some of the high end trainers have built-in readouts and resistance controls...but i figured I'll start with a mid-level trainer for about 150 with a resistance selector..then move my speed sensor to the rear wheel...should be no problem right?

Cateye Astral 8. Cheap and dependable. It also has cadence.

Good call. The Astral 8 is cheap, and like Timex, it keeps on ticking. Also, the sensor for speed goes on the rear wheel. Cadence, of course, goes on the crank. $40.00 give or take a couple of bucks.

Nashbar has the Astral 8 for $30.
