Dyeing leather shoes

Is it possible to dye cycling shoes? I have a pair that is really fading in color, could I use Rid to change the color, most likely black.

Find a shop that sells Fiebing's leather dyes. They come in a wide range of colors and are easy to use. Most current cycling shoes are not made from real leather (e.g. 'lorica') so the dye may not take....
