Sidi shoe sizes

Decided to bite the bullet and order some Sidi shoes but I am stuck on shoe size. I wear a 8 1/2 US and currrently use a Shimano 42 Euro bike shoe. I understand that Sidi shoes run about 1/2 size small but I don't know if that is a 1/2 size off in US or Euro. The Sidi size charts suggest that a 42.5 Euro would line up with my 8 1/2 US size. Currently looking at the Sidi Genius 5 (Carbon too expensive for me).
Can anyone that uses Sidi shoes and normally wears a 8 1/2 US (normal width) shoe tell me what size Sidi works well for them? I am guessing that I need a 42.5 or 43.
PS...before anyone suggests I visit my LBS and try on a pair, no one sells them in my area.

I wear a 10-1/2 EEE and wear a Sidi 45 in the mega width, so for me they don't seem to run small. Based on that I doubt that someone who wears an 8-1/2 would wear a 43. If at all possible try a pair on somewhere before buying.

If you are an REI member, just order the size that should fit. If they don't, leave them at the store.

If you go to the Sidi website, you can print out a size chart. Make sure you read the instructions and check the length of the printout - some printers may default to "scale to page", and the size will be off.

Thanks all. I just went on a business trip that allowed me to visit a bike shope that sold Sidi. The 42.5 fit me great...firm with no wiggle. The 43 fit pretty good also but had a tiny bit of wiggle room that I think would allow a blister to develop on a long ride.
Glad that Sidy makes the half sizes. The 42 would have been clearly too small and I would have been forced to go with the 43 even though it might have been a tiny bit too loose.

I wear a womens 10 which translates to a men's 8 and bought Sidi Zeta men's in a 42.5. They fit fine when I tried them in the store and they even sold me insoles (sucker!) for extra padding as my foot isn't as wide as a man's. Not only do I not use the extra insoles (my feet were asleep halway into the first ride) half the time I have to take the Sidi insoles out as my toes get numb from the shoe being too tight. I wish I had gone to a 43 or a women's shoe now. Good luck with yours!
