biek components

^^^^Sorry for the spelling error in the title^^^^Is every bike component important??? because in order to fix a flat tire that I got tonight I had to take the tire off but something was blocking the lug nut that I needed to loosen. Can anyone tell me if the thing I took off was important or not. Also what it is called. I just bought me a new bike today since my other one screwed up like hell.

try not to just go removing things off of a brand new bike unless you are 100% sure its okay to do so. Do you have a picture of what u removed bc i am not sure what u r saying

No. Not without more information. Front or rear wheel?

eh screw it I will just put it back on the bike tomarrow. but now what would you do if your tire has a hole in it and the tube is coming out of it??? what I do is I just take a piece of card board and wrap it up in duck tape and I just put it where the hole is at. I actually holds the tube in.

My guess is that the part in question is a derailleur protector, usually seen on kids' bikes. So no, you don't need it. But if you can't tell what a part does, you probably shouldn't be working on your bike yourself. For instance, I saw a bike once where the owner sprayed WD40 on his disc rotors because they were squeaking. If you don't know why that would be bad, please put down your wrench and walk the bike to your nearest bike shop.
