mtb and road stems.. this question may be stupid but what really is the difference? i'm just curious. I can't find any info on the web so that's why i'm asking it here...

Usually about 1/8" steer tube diameter, too.

What is the length on a road stem?...I know mtb stems range from 0 to 120ish and depending on your discipline you ride either long or short. Does this apply in road?
