I've seen 3 different flomax commercials in the past week, every single one of em shows a group of cyclists in their 40's and 50's happily going down the road. What exactly is the message here?

EDIT: Flomax is supposed to make you stop peeing like 20 times a day.

Shoot, even I don't need to go that often. Although I do know the location of every available facility in about a 50 mile radius of where I normally ride.

Sad, isn't it ?

maybe they figure if you're seating your way down the road you won't have to pee?

Lemond says that if you aren't getting up twice a night to go pee you aren't staying properly hydrated. Maybe they think we are an easy sales target.

Is Flomax cheaper than using NASA brand diapers?

Commercial's message:

You're getting older. You pee a lot. A lot. So much that you have to use strategery to make sure you are always near a bathroom.

Now you can do things with your friends other then sitting near the bathroom and pretending your grandson isn't gay, he's just waiting for the "right girl". With the newfound freedom of Flowmax, you could.... you could... ride a bicycle with your friends! Imagine that!

So would you be happier if they showed a bunch of paunchy guys drinking beer in a bowling alley? "Hey, Slvoid, are we going to have to keep waiting for you every time that it's your turn?"

I can't believe that the "men" (boys??) here don't know that their prostrate grows all their
lives and will, in time, cause many issue from not being able to pee to peeing in
little dabs 20 odd times everyday and night. That gland that gives you so much fun
in your youth will, in time, demand a terrble revenge that range from peeing issues
to death from prostrate cancer. Shame on the lot of you.......

This ain't no laughing matter fella's so give it up.

I do a long ride each year and it is about 12 hours long. In that 12 hours- I drink 12 litres of water. That may be a lot but I do not suffer from de-hydration. I also do not pee a great deal either- I sweat the moisture out so my theory is that To stay hydrated under strenuous exercise, you have to drink a lot.

Incidentally- Prostate cancer is a killer. And that is from someone who was finally declared clear of it 5 years after surgery to get rid of it.

1: During the second Race Across AMerica I saw a report on a Denver TV station. A reporter rode next to a male rider while a camera truck followed, taping. Rider: We only get off the bike to sleep. Reporter: Surely there is one thing you have to dismount for. Rider: Well the women have to but we men just find a down hill, coast, pull our shorts down and do it.

2. When I had a fully faired recumbent trike, again no problem.

3. Its why RAGBRAI waits until the corn is high enough. Women on the right, men on the left. Or vica versa.

4. I do memorize every open restroom and porta-potty on my commute runs. Dense bushes as well.
