Pics from some of my rides

Greetings all,

I thought I'd share some pics from some of my regular weekend rides instead of just gloating about them all the time. There might be a few here, so I hope that's cool with everybody.

The first few come from Springbrook, which is about 45km west of here. Since I haven't worked out how to post a pic in the body of a message yet, they'll have to be as attachments. This one is of Twin Falls.

This one is from the top of the mountain, at a spot called Best of All Lookout, there's a couple here, and this is the view to the south.

This bit is on the same mountain, a little futher down. And you've got to walk a bit to get here, but I think it's worth the effort.

This is another spot on the Eastern side of the mountain looking over what I think is Tallebudgera Valley.

Thanks for the comments, Fubar. This is the last one for now. It's the same Canyon spot, but with a slightly different outlook.

The place I took these ones at (Springbrook) is actually the second wettest place on mainland Australia. Rain can come out of literally nowhere up there, so if ya' don't like riding in the rain...

Oh yeah, it's also not as hot up there, so that's cool too.

Depends where you are. I've heard that in Tasmania it actually snows in summer!

Around here (Queensland) it never snows. Just at the moment it's winter so it's not hot at all. In summer it's normal around here for the temperature to be at 30 degrees C (about 90 on the other scale), even at night. Sometimes, though, it gets really hot, like 47 C (118 roughly).

And the humidity is always really high, so that's why I like winter riding better. For Springbrook you can knock about 5-7 degrees C off the temperature all the time, that's why (at least, one reason) I like it so much up there.

Chris

Wow, that is a big range of weather. My parents went to Australia once, but I was little so I don't remember.

ChrisL,

Geez Louise! No wonder you like to ride upside down in Austrailia! It's beautiful. We have got equally wonderful sights within a 200 mile ride, but my morning commute mostly looks like pavement, rocks, glass and the occasional mirror brush!

These pictures weren't your regular commute, I assume?
...If so, I want to move!

Gorgeous views, Chris, thanks! I thought "canyon2" looked like science-fiction (for somebody accustomed to Missouri landscapes).

It's a good thing you like riding hills.

Nah, these weren't from my regular commute (I wish they were). My regular commute runs right next to the beach, so that's pretty cool, too. Especially in summer!
