So i learned an important lesson this morning
never be the last person to show up for a century.
last night at the bike shop while hunting for new tires I saw a flyer for a century today. I figured I havent done one in a bit so I would do it. I got bad directions on the meeting spot and ended up showing up about 5 minutes till time to go. I got my bike out got it assembled got my tires inflated, and was finishing getting dressed as everyone started pulling out, so i toss my wallet in my tail bag and hop on. turn one i start thinking where are my keys turn two i realize my brakes are open. so i reach down and flip the levers close and adjust them the best i can while moving. about 4 miles in i find out my tail bag was open and my wallet flies out and spill my money all over the road.
So i end up hopping of my bike to chase down little peach and green bills in traffic. by the time i got my wallet and my money i lost the pack, and the course was unmarked. I am lost now in a part of town i had never been in before. I spend a few minutes trying to figure out which way everyone went before just packing in and heading back to my car.
but atleast i did get a decent picture today once i got home

argh, unsupported centuries with unmarked courses are just terrible. It's just a bad bad idea if you don't know the course like the back of your hand or have a good map.

Ouch, that's awful but I can relate. Almost as bad as going out for a long ride and about 20 miles out getting a bad case of CRS (the over 40 disease called Can't Remember S***) and thinking maybe you left the stove on or some such thing and you worry the house is going to burn down.
