pedal suggestions needed
HI,
I need some suggestions for new pedals. I just bought a new bike (K2 Mach 1 - entry level road bike) and I've already cracked the crappy plastic pedals that came stock on the bike. I hate them to begin with, so I already knew that new pedals were going to be my first upgrade. I've used clipless before on my mountain bike and I know that they will not be suitable for the city riding that i'm doing on my road bike (i'm terrible at clipping in and out despite hours of practice, and falling over in traffic city traffic is not an option). So I want a basic platform pedal, but something that is really strong and not gonna bust within a few weeks. any suggestions??? |
Check out this recent thread on the subject, it had some good suggestions regarding strong platform pedals.

MKS Sylvan Touring pedals with PowerGrips. The pedals themselves are actually serviceable, so they will last if you take care of them. The PowerGrips give you some advantage (not like clipless, I realize), but you can get out of them easily. I put this set up on my bike a week ago and I love them. MKS pedals have a good reputation for longevity.
