Web resource for charting elevation changes

As much as I seem to comment to myself about the hills around me, I'd like to see what kind of elevation changs I'm actually doing.

Has anyone found a good website with topographic maps or maybe a way to get reliable data on this from Google Earth?

toporoute.com is pretty good. I also like the way they connect points along the road without having to plot all the points between

I like TopoZone.com

Although I am a fan of bikely, it does a poor job of calculating elevation gains. Bikely underestimates elevation gain because, at best, it looks up elevation only at the points you enter. If you have large numbers of points, bikley does not appear to use all of them.

I am unaware of any online tool to give you elevation gain on a route other than motionbased.com. But getting any good climb data from motionbased requires you to have a GPS record data points fairly often.

I just found this site and I love that feature, too... it's a little bit buggy but a good 'un

Bikely and routeslip are both borked with elevation right now. At least last night when I was mapping out a ride.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ has elevation. It's off by default; there's a link on the left to turn it on. However, it only draws straight lines between the elevation at each checkpoint you set. There's also a topographic map overlay but it's harder to read for a whole route.
