going riding tommorrow
 

Well I am going riding tommorrow,don't know if I am supposed to but goonna anyway.I have been feeling good and finnally have a decent weather to do so.
I am going to take my daughter and son on about a 5 mile ride.It is an old road that has been abandoned when the freeway went through.Now they call it the Lewis and Clark commemorative trail or something like that.
I am just happy that I am going to go riding tommorrow.Yippie.
I will let you all know what and how things go.

Twenty years ago I got up about 5 AM on Easter Sunday and rode 11 miles to the church where I was the pastor at the time. I got all of the last minute things ready and conducted the Easter Sunrise service at 7 AM. We had a breakfast at the church and Bible class followed by another Easter service and I rode the 11 miles home. This was after an evening service for Good Friday and another one the day before for Maundy Thursday, all with separate sermons to prepare. Holy Week is exhausting for pastors.

This year I managed one ride of 15 miles on Monday of this week, even though we have fine, fine weather. I may ride today, unless I think it is more prudent to rest for the two services with separate sermons, breakfast, and Bible class I have tomorrow morning. I doubt I will ride tomorrow. Being 60 years of age is a little different than being 40 years of age.


People write all sorts of stuff on this forum disguising things with *** or $$ or double entendre', but it would probably be offensive to someone if I said anything more about why we really celebrate Easter, so I will just say, "A blessed Easter to all!" J*$u$ is Ri$*n!

I just hope when I am 60 I feel like riding.
I unfortunatly wasn't even thinking about the fact that it was Easter weekend.My bad.
This will be the first good ride (other than around the block)I have had since my surgury.I am looking too forward to it.Now if I could just get my nose to clear out so I can breath through it.(that is nothing to worry about though)
I guess the kids are all going with me.I think this will be a blast.

Age 60 does not feel much different than being younger. You do not get as bothered about some things. You do not have quite the ambition and stamina you once had, but I also carry about 30 pounds I did not have when I was younger. One little goal I have is to ride the TOSRV again on the 50th anniversary of my first riding of it. I would be 78 then. I would also like to weigh what I weighed the first time. I would also like to ride it with the same bike. I have that bike, but the wheels and several components have been replaced.

twobikes, im 62 and we road 20miles today,wind 20-30mph/12degrees,snow! two of my friends are doing the TOSRV this year in May,the 12th &13 i think? would it be the same one your talking about? This is in Ohio??? Anyway as long as God in the pilot/not the copilot age don't mean nothing/im just wondering how my tires are going to roll on streets of gold,you got any idea??? joe

Yes. It is the same TOSRV. I just started riding again with some seriousness last summer. Too many life interruptions happened in the last couple of decades, and too much extra eating with too little exercise. I dropped a bit of weight, but have more to go. Congratulations on being able to do well in adverse weather conditions.

Ok,The ride went great.There ended up being 5 of us go.4 were kids.Two 15 year olds,a 10 year old and my 4 year old.(he rode in the trailer)It lasted for a total of about 10 miles.It was cool but we were worried about rain through about 1/3 of it.Kinda wierd riding on a road and not having to worry about being run down by a car.
Every one involved liked the ride.We all want to do more of them.I have about 4 or 5 more just about like it.So I need to get to planning the next one.I know of probly 2 or 3 more people that would go.Gotta be careful not to over due it.I am very tired tonight.but I am not hurting and that is a plus.
