If you hear a distant scream...

it's because I'm over-ambitious.

Two weeks post-hernia surgery as of today. I'm going to try pumping up the tires on my road bike.

Wish me luck.

Sometimes, ya just gotta bite the bullet and inflate with CO2. When you're sure you're ready to toddle around the block, I mean. Don't risk any falls, though.

As you found out- 2 weeks might be a bit soon. And thats just pumping up the tyres. Riding might be a different ball game. They say 6 weeks before riding but they are always overestimating.

Yea I am with stepfam 2 weeks is a little soon.I would wait for a couple of weeks yet.Just to make sure things are healing like they are supposed to.
I know how hard it is to wait but in this case it is the best thing.Good luck.

I am betting you feel exactly like I did when I tried vacuuming the carpet without waiting six weeks after surgery...but at least you were looking forward to a more fun activity, had you been successful.

Yeah, it was a pretty special feeling, that's for sure! I won't be pumping up the tires anytime this week...maybe my wife would do that for me. Hmmmm.

Tires fully inflated. Rode on the trainer for 10 minutes. No pain.

Tomorrow I'm going outside

I waited for at least three weeks, before I even used my trainer- at my doctor's orders. Two months before I went out on the road. And my injury was higher up like my shoulder. Of course, my doctor demanded I wait like a minimum of four months before I go out on the street. Why would I listen to him. Be careful.
