Hey, I like this vendor.

I ordered a computer and a Jannd Tire Bag from these guys Sunday night. Monday, they called at work to let me know the bag was on backorder, delivery date unknown, and would I like to cancel the order. I did, and asked that the computer be canceled too, as shipping charges get really high on single, low cost items. They said they would ship the computer without shipping. That's going the extra distance. Actually, they've just moved to the top of my internet vendor list. It arrived today, and sure 'nuff, no shipping charge.

That's biketiresdirect.com by the way.

Well, sometimes you hear about the bad experiences. I wanted to share a good one.

Here's another good one, especially if you're looking for oddball stuff: www.loosescrews.com

I needed some retro (non-aero) gum brake hoods for some vintage Campy brake levers recently, and after shopping ebay I found that loosescrews at their everyday price for the item was better than most of the auction prices I was seeing on ebay. So I ordered them, but was a little put off by the high price of the express, two day shipping charges. I went with the standard shipping, which was very reasonable but was listed as 7-10 day delivery. About two days after I placed the order, I get an email from loosescrews saying they were sorry it had taken so long to get the item shipped, and I should receive it shortly. I was a little bewildered, but sure enough I received the shipment the next day. So basically I got a good price on the item, paid for 7-10 day shipping, received an unexpected and unnecessary apology for it taking so long to ship, and had the item within three days after I ordered it. I'll be doing business with them again-

I love it. I guess it's better to be a little pessimistic on shipping time than overly optimistic.

I ordered some stuff from Wallingford in February and because it was near Mardi Gras they sent me beads guaranteed to have been caught during a parade. They also have the fastest turn around times for getting goods to my door of anyone I've dealt with on the net, bicycle related or otherwise.

Don't know if that's good, or real good. As I say, though, I do like them. If only they would ship USPS. . . . I don't really like getting personal stuff at work. Maybe I should call them about this.
