May God have mercy on my soul.

So....I made a rash decision.

Went on Craigslist look at a 99(?) Jake the Snake. Frame size was good, had room for racks, bar end shifters, cyclocross tires, and room for fenders. Pretty much unridden. So I bought it. It isn't steel like the crosscheck. (which I was VERY seriously looking at) And probably not as versatile. But for $300 bones who could refuse?! I'm psyched. I'll post pics manana cause I"m hoping for some advice on how to use the extra money I saved to mack my new bike out.

Gotta get pics of the road and mountain bike for craigslist too!!!

Please don't tell my wife.

$300 for a Jake the Snake in great shape? Thou wouldst be smitten if thou had not procured such bread from heaven.

Cool. I know someone who scored a 2001 or so JTS off craigslist. I think it has an aluminum frame and steel fork, no?

From what I can tell the frame is aluminum. Will the steel fork reduce chatter? The derailleurs and hubs are all soma though...
