How Often Do You.....?
Hi guys & gals. Haven't been around in a while.
How often do you say to yourself, "Where in the hell am I?" during your rides? Those are my favorite rides of all. |
B-N-D, so where in the hell have you been? BTW, I haven't seen Rotifer around here lately, either.

Hey Bikes-N-Drums, good to see you! :)
I don't have those interesting "where-am-I" moments during my rides, I'm afraid. Too familiar with the territory here :) |

Last weekend actually, when I took a couple of days to head for the Darling Downs. I got badly lost, but compared to the wild horses and the ice, that was a minor issue. Still, getting lost is kinda fun.

My bike team is called Team Never Lost, the title is sarcastic. On almost every trail ride we have the trail book out and the cyclecomputers to confirm mileage but it always happens, "Umm, where's the car?" and then miraculously a couple miles later the trail head appears in the distance, "Ok, call off the search party."

I once got lost in Pasadena. Decided to go other way that came and happened to miss Route 66 (Huntington Drive), and had to ask a worried looking guy, which directed me right opposite direction I was going... :) Found other good places there though.

you think you have your local trails figured out, try riding them at night, throws a whole different perspective on things, fun and scary at the same time. We'll have moonlight runs here in the neighborhood sometimes. The most fun are nighttime urban assaults.
|
Allright, I got the 'where've you been' question a bunch: I'm in four bands and I've been a busy busy bee lately! Or maybe I was just out on one of those rides, lost for several months.

Always. . .
BnD good to see you back, You too Mechbegon, seems you also took a break there. . . I love those kinds of rides. Marty |
BND- good to see you around. I almost fell off my chair last night when I saw you online!
I got lost in Chicago a few weeks ago. I was trying to take a shortcut, and I guess I'm a bit cocky and think I know everything about Chicago. I was literally riding in circles until I figured out where I was. Now I carry a map with me at all times. You never know! |
Good to see ya back BnD ! There are a few people gone missing... has anyone seen Greg lately ?
Yeah i've had those days BnD.. you get lost... sometimes it is for the better... take a new road.. see where it leads... it's all about the journey Jeff |
I've never really been lost, although I have done plenty of exploring. Living relatively near to an airport puts a dampener on those 'where am I' rides. All you have to do is look up to work out how to get home.

Somebody oughta smack you around for running out on us for so long. BND

I have gotten slightly lost in Rancho Santa Fe a few times, but it has always turned out to be an enjoyable adventure. It's a bit harder to get lost along the coast. :)
|
Oh yeah, one other thing. If anybody ever happens to get lost in Brisbane, don't bother looking at a map. Just find your way instinctively and you'll get there much quicker - and remember that all roads lead to the Story Bridge.
