Calling you crafty folks!

So what kinds of accessories and bike related things have you made? Things you wish you've made? Cool things you've seen?

I'm looking to make something for my friend as a graduation present that will make all of the kids at college super jealous.

Small? Large? Needs to be useful, or just decorative?

Bookends made from old rings is an old standby, and I've seen a box-like basket made from old wheels (it was welded together, and I have NO idea what it would be used for, as it wasn't pretty...)

There are some gorgeous old chain rings out there, with different themes. Try something like this:

http://www.bikecult.com/works/chainwheel.html

to see various chain rings. Would not necessarily cost a lot, but would be appreciated by many of us, especially if you could make a tie-in somehow (as in, I would love a set of bookends from Raleigh chain rings because I am English...a set of bookends from a bicycle maker from Lancashire would be even better, but probably not practical!)

Nice. The craftiest thing I've ever done with old bike parts is to hang a worn out 16t cog on the Xmas tree.
