Giant versus Miele

I am looking to buy either the Giant, FCR-3 or the Miele, Umbria Elite. Both are performance hybrid bikes. Any thoughts, feedback or comparisons on either of these bikes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Marc

Hi marc, I was just passin' through posts that had been sitting awhile, decent question. Are you Canadian? All I know of miele is that it's an Italian named frame builder from Canada. I've seen his work in steel road bikes every so often, it's highly reguarded, hand-made by himself or his "crew".. master builders, fetches$ I have a Giant Hybrid,an old steel bike, Inova it's called,I a Nutra as well, both OK,I like the Jamis Coda better, it's steel as well, the new ones still are, all my oppinion. The FACT is that Giant makes fine bikes, all the bikes they offer are at least good, some are great. It would be wrong to knock the Giant,I've seen it at my LBS and on-line, the price is good. Sora takes heat from some folkes, it shifts quite well, better than the "better" stuff did seven to ten years ago. If the Meile is chromoly steel, I'd favor it. If it's aluminum, I would recommend that you test-ride the both. You WILL feel a difference.if you don't, OK too, go with the color or appeal. My big sister doesn't care for any of the Giant brand bikes in our family(including her kids, my family bikes etc.) She maintains that she prefered other brands we've had because they felt less "cramped". Treks for example, make a more "stretched-out" design. In any case, these are theories that MAY apply to what you experience in your test rides. GOOD luck, you'll know it wehen you feel it !!!

Thanks for the feedback. The Miele is a Canadian bike with Taiwanese components of course. Both of these bikes is in the price range of $480-$500 Canadian. Take a look at the specs of both and see if anything stands out... I was looking for a performance hybrid that I can take on the road for some distance and also take on trails with gravel and packed dirt !

Miele... https://www.mielebicycles.com/en/velo...&COLOR=ALUPOLI

Giant.. https://www.giant-bicycle.com/en-CA/b...oad/733/27836/

Thanks,

Marc
