Expensive day, the girlfriend won't like this :)

Just got back from the LBS with some new stuff.

Two sets of crankbrothers egg beaters(one for the MTB one for the road)
New set of shoes

I just changed over to clipless from the platform pedals that both bikes had.

Cost my a pretty penny too.

Now I know why my girlfriend won't let me go down there without her.

You're not even married, and she already tells you how to spend your money?

I have been married for 14 years. I truly love my wife. She is my soul mate, and lifelong partner.

But I will admit this one advantage to having gf's.

One good thing about gf's vs. wives.... They are replacable without a serious loss of assets.

You mean she can tell the difference? Hang on to her, she sounds like a good one.

Someone is whipped! j/k

Been married for 10 years. We share a common account and our own separate accounts for spending. For the most part we do whatever we want with our spending cash.

You could purchase a gift for her as well for a diversion.

You could take one set of shoes back as a peace offering. You only need one pair with those cleats.

I only got one set of shoes, two sets of pedals.

She isn't mad, she doesn't get mad when I spend my money. She just doesn't understand.

Her words to me were "what was wrong with the other pedals?" "Were they broken?"

ME: No, These are just better, I go into detail with explenation.

Her: ...cool

She just likes to give me a hard time, but I love her for it.

I see no problem then, except that you haven't given her a ring.

Patriot, I agree 100% if she is telling him what to do now, dump her fast. It only gets worse. Eventually, she'll make you dump the bikes entirely when it interferes with what she wants.

Is she your GF or your wife? With that attitude, I'll feel really sorry for you once married, you won't be able to go out of the house.

My wife tell me to get out and bike more often. I just can't spend much more money until I get my job back when school starts.
I have a list compiling as we speak.

Do some repair job on your bike, your car, or your house. Tell her how much you saved by doing it yourself. Then tell her you figure you now have a credit to spend in that amount. Smile in such a way that she cannot tell if you are serious or joking. When you spend the money and she questions you, ask her if she does not remember that you had amassed a credit to spend later.

My secretary said her high school friend buys a pair of shoes and shows them to her husband while she is wearing them and nothing else at all. So far he has never objected to her buying a pair of shoes.
