My first fall using clipless....
Today I after I returned home from my sunday 15 miler, I was doing a little cooling off by riding up and donw the street a few times. My neighbor was outside with a few friends and he called me over so he could look at my bike. I pulled up into his driveway and hit the brakes and came to a complete stop.
Sh!!!t I forgot to un-clip, down I go! I use to play football and when i fall, I natually "Roll" when I hit the ground. The bike was flopped around a little since It was still attached while i was rolling. Got up without a scratch. It shocked all who saw it,because they did not know what happened. They thought I passed out or something since one of them saw me "tucked in" on the Aero bars coming down 210 smokin . I got a good laugh out it and so did everyone else. I Knew this was going to happen, just did not know when. So much for showing off my "Cool" bike to the fellas today..:) Anyway this was my first fall since I went with the " crank brothers Quattro's ". So add me to the list of clowns who forgot to unclip before he stopped..:D "Free your Feet" or your a$$ is sure to follow, lol |
Classic!

Sweet - welcome to the club :) I had my first clipless fall in front of about fifty cars waiting at various red lights. Bloodied my knee and right arm, too.
|
My first (and only so far) fall was in front of my mom. She got all "mom" on me and was acting like I was 5 again. haha. At least it was only in front of my mom and not a whole bunch of people.

Heh, fun stuff. At least you got 15 miles out before tipping over. I made it down the block out of my LBS and sloooooowly fell over while struggling to twist my foot out!
|
Next time we need video.
Still waiting for first "forgot-to-unclip" fall after 30+ years of toe clips/power grips/clipless. Had a few close calls but no falls. Don't believe you are doomed to falling over. |

Like this :roflmao: |
I've had my pedals for about a week now and haven't really had any trouble thus far. Almost had an issue once when I was slowly inching forward at an intersection waiting for cross traffic to pass, but they didn't go as quickly as I thought they were going to and I almost fell when my bike slowed to the point of not being able to maintain balance, but I got my foot unclipped just in time. That has been my only close call thus far.

It's a rule, when you clipless fall, it will be in front of people.
|
Don't feel bad. I fall all the time on my mtn bike. That makes me think. If you fall clipless in the woods with no one around, is it still funny? Hell yes it is :)

My first fall was ten feet from my yard in my alleyway. I landed in a mud puddle. It was March so I was cold, wet and muddy but it probably looked really funny.
