new to the forum and have a quick question....looking for a bike
i am getting back in to biking. i have an older cannondale mtn. bike, bought it in the mid 90's and am looking to do a little bit of everything. i want to ride roads and have the ability to do some off road stuff as well. i am thinking that what i currently have will not be all that suitable for road riding and wanted to get some suggestions on some bikes that i might want to take a look at. i have a pretty busy schedule and am not sure how often i am going to be able to ride, so i don't want to sink a lot of money in a bike...my ideal cost would be no more than $525 and i wanted to see if anyone has any good suggestions for a bike in that range.
thanks,
rex

Why not just get slicks on the C'Dale MTB?

My friend has a Iron Horse bike. Pretty basic [no disk brakes/dual suspension]
Good quality though, and around your price range you could probably get something even better!

Instead of the Iron Horse I'd go with a better quality used bike. Try to find a cyclocross bike it sounds like it would be ideal for you. Maybe a used Kona Jake.
