Back in the saddle!
It's hard to believe that I introduced myself to all of you on this forum over two months ago, but haven't had a chance to post since...
I just wanted to say that I have finally been riding again over the past few weeks, and it feels so good to be back in the saddle again! Up until last year I was riding all the time, but between work, home, and some networking courses I was taking at night I just hadn't ridden much since. (okay okay, I admit it... I also bought a motorcycle last year and I spent quite a bit of time riding that instead of my bike).
But now that I have finally been pedaling again it feels great! I'm waking up easier in the morning, have more energy during the day, and the pants are starting to button up a little easier again.
There is a lake near my house that is 6.75 miles around, and I like to do a few laps around that at least a few times a week for a consistent place to track my average speed. Well, when I first started riding again I could only average 15.8 mph, but in the past 3 weeks or so I have been able to get that back up to 17.8! A fair improvement I think, although still a ways off from the 19+ that I used to be able to do. But I'll get there by the end of the summer, I'm sure of it... I've even been commuting to work again. Got my stumpy leaning up against my desk right now!!!
Anyway, sorry for my long rant. I just had to tell someone!!! Thanks for listenin'!!!
