I am a long time member of the ever-shrinking leisure class, also known as an un-employed bum. I used to be a professional student and a humanitarian aid worker, as well as a few other things I shall not mention.

Both jobs are to make educational material for the Department of Technical and Further Education (TAFE). Courses range from 6 weeks to Diploma and Degree level.

I have the heart & soul of an engineer & techie, but currently work as Radiation & Explosive Safety Officer for a major oilfield service company. Also do a lot of professional-level training. I like to teach.

That is not strictly true. Many techno-geeks don't read directions but there is a strong subset of techno-geeks that are compulsive documentation readers. I followed the directions and I am a systrem engineer, formerly a sys-admin.
