I can't stand the wait!

I ordered a custom built bike (just custom components, not the frame) from a LBS over a month ago and it's still not ready. I phoned two weeks ago and the owner said it will be ready the next weekend. The weekend passes and still nothing. So I phoned again at the beginning of this week and he said it will be ready today, but still no phone call from him.

How long does it normally take a bike store to build up a bike? I understand that it's summer and probably busy, but is more than a month normal? I think I'll drop by in person if it's still not ready in the next 2 weeks. It just kills me that the weather's great but my bike isn't ready.

A mix of Shimano parts, a Brooks saddle, Salsa rims, Tektro brakes, Sugino crank - nothing fancy that I would imagine takes long to ship.

And its taken them over a month to do this? Come on, if all the parts are there a good wrench could do this in an afternoon. ok maybe add a couple of hours if they are building up the wheels.

My bike was supposed to have 105 all the way around but out of 12 distributors no cranks could be found. I had to upgrade if I wanted my bike at the time promised. 12 weeks.............
