Component Comparison Chart?
 

Hi there,

I believe in the past I've come across a site with a chart comparing various components and their relative quality - But of course, now that I actually am on the market for a new bike I can't find it. I think it compared the various types of Shimano, SRAM etc. from best to worst. Anyone know of such a link - with several brands and grades compared all in one place?

If someone posts the chart that says Chorus is equivalent to Dura-Ace and Record is in a category of it's own, dismiss it at once. I've seen that chart, and it's one of the biggest myths in cycling components. I'm not saying Record isn't good (it's very good) or that Dura-Ace is equivalent to Record, it's just that you can't make truly valid comparisons across manufacturers.

Trek has "their version" of Shimano on their web page. Just look at a specific bike and it's off to the bottom right.
I think the rating changes, depending on the price of the bike.
