Interbike Hotels??
I'm on a tight budget this year but at the same time would like to stay somewhere that is within reasonable walking distance....to me that's about a half mile. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Harrahs? I think that is relatively close. Also, what about the Hilton? Is that too far to walk on those 100 degree days?
Thanks.
Thanks.

We stayed at the Hilton the times I have been. Not a bad walk. I think Harrahs is closer.
baj, he is going to the convention center which is next to the Venetian(I think)

I stayed at Harrahs for CES. It's a short walk to the Venetian, maybe 5 minutes along the strip so it's very convenient. Once inside the Venetiatian you can walk through the lobby to the Sands Convention Center.

Every day a winding road
Tight budget and staying at the Hilton. Isn't that an oxymoron?
Of course in Vegas who know maybe the Hilton is like $1.98 a night????

Spend enough time at the blackjack* table and the room is free plus tickets to Penn&Teller.
*Best odds in Vegas, but they still favor the House.
When you get done looking at all the bike swag go to Treasure Island and watch the free pirate ship battle. Pretty good, night time is the best, be sure to wait for the resurection of the British man-o-war. Also look up high in the "cliff side" and you can sometimes see the operation center thruthe oneway glass in one of the cliff houses.

I found really good rates through sidestep.com, of course it was in January.. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than September (October?) in Vegas. I stayed at the Stratosphere for $39 a night.. only downfall to that is that you are at the very northern part of the Strip so a trip south to like the Luxor/Mandalay Bay area takes awhile.

You can also bring a bike. The first extracycle I ever saw was a dude zipping around Vegas during the show. I beleive it might have been a prototype, it was a long time ago.

Thanks guys. The Hilton may sound expensive...but believe me there are lots of other places that are waaaay more. I'm also trying to stay within walking distance of the the convention center as you tend to pick up a lot of stuff during the day and a long walk back to the hotel can take a lot of time. Also parking and driving is pretty expensive and it can be pretty time consuming. And did I mention....it's always a 100 degrees! Dry heat.

I'm staying at the Riviera. Check that out. May be a 15 minute walk to the Sands, and not so much action along that route that you aren't dodging as many people. Sahara is probably a bit cheaper, but maybe exceed your range requirements. If you have not yet booked your air transporation, check out also a air/hotel package from your airline's web site. I've done this last few years and it does save a bit --$50-$80 for this 2-3 night trip.

I've got reservations at Harrah's. $94 a day and not a long walk.
Thanks for all the input.
