Help me understand clipless pedals and shoes
I'm starting longer distance biking. My bike has Wellgo WPD M17C pedals which are 98A and Shimano 51 compatible (whatever that means) and also platform on the other side. I am looking for women's cycling shoes but they all say they are LOOK compatible or 3 bolt or 2 bolt or SPD compatible, but none of them say they are 98A or Shimano 51 compatible. I feel certain that there must be multiple names for the compatibilities, but I don't know how to match them up. Can anyone teach me?

don't try this at home.
Shimano 51 are the common SPD cleats. These are two bolt cleats. So look for two bolt or SPD and they will be correct. The three bolt cleats are in a triangle shape. Some road shoes only have the three bolt holes.
