'Hurricane' Girl Tries to Ride to Ohio

DELAND, Fla. (AP) - An 8-year-old girl who recently moved to Florida caused a panic when she tried to ride back home to Ohio on her bicycle out of fear of hurricanes. A sheriff's helicopter, search dogs and neighbors found the girl after an hour-long search Wednesday night.

Actually if you watch the news coverage down here you would think Dean was head directly for FL. Most of the stations have invested heavily in hurricane coverage, WPLG has Max Mayfield as a consultant, so they have to recoup all this weather $ they spent by hyping hurricane coverage every 10min. Local news loves this stuff, everyone like to watch a train wreck. Max has scored big with the weather, he went from a $300k NHC job to probably 7 figure income doing consulting at 25% the amount of work he was doing

Poor little kid probably though the end was coming.

Another article said she was 1 mile from home.
