Just received a Kyrptonite Fahgettaboutit U-lock in the mail

I remember getting my first U-lock from Kryptonite in the early 1980's. It was hard to picture any tougher a lock would ever be needed. That was then and this is now. Who designed this new lock, Thor? This thing feels more like a weapon than a lock. Holy smokes. Now I just have to decide how to haul it on my bike.

They sure do pack a lot of gravity into them, don't they?

I downgraded one step to the New York Lock for everyday use. (Fortunately, I live upstate where thieves are both less professional and less persistent.) I use the Fahgettaboudit to keep my second bike locked to the radiator at my apartment, unless I'm going to be locking downtown after dark or anyplace where I want to make a statement. Then it comes along.

The easiest way to haul the lock is locked through a rear rack on your bike. The weight of the lock keeps it from rattling around too much so you won't even need elastic to hold it down. Plus none of the Kryptonite holders will fit the Fahgettaboutit lock anyway so they're not really an option.

yeah, that lock is amazingly heavy. I only use it in my house and on my bianchi, feels like it nearly doubles the weight :D. The other bikes get to use a lighter more portable evolution lock since I use them for commuting and errands.

If you want to carry it around... put it in a bag or suspend/slot it in a rack.

Stick it in your wallet pocket or tuck it in your belt.

Uh huh. You don't actually own one, right?

I just got mine on Sunday! I had my LBS order it in for me. I brought it to work and have since left it locked to the bike rack (which is cemented into the pavement). :D
I've got my lighter Kryptonite and a cable lock for going other place (I still use the cable at work, too, though).
