I lost my valve stem

I was filling up my presta tube when the screw-down thing popped out and got lost (I screwed it the wrong way). Can I still commute? I have to leave in the next few minutes if so. Or do I need a new tube? tia.

Hmm. You can replace a Presta valve core? I've never tried this!

I've replaced Schrader valve cores hundreds of times...

Thanks. Commute went well. I will check the lbs to see if they have a popped tube with core.

Some presta tubes have a removable valve core. Most do not.
