No More Flats

when you buy new bike its usually got non-thornproof tubes and tires, here is what i have done to prevent flats,i take the non-thornproof tube and slice it to make a sleeve to wrap all around a new thorn proof tube,i keep the non thorn proof tires, this works much better than using both thorn proof tubes and tires and its cheaper,i have never had a tire go down, its the best bindy proof around guys.ps,dont forget to cut the valve out first.i used this method in the country where bindies were real thick.

not a bad idea, but i stick to patches. You must have some real rotational mass.

nope

you hardly notice the difference, with some ebikes its very hard to take off some wheels to use a patch, prevention is better then cure.it works well try it out.

I bought Armadillo tires and thorn proof tubes because I commute to work and want to avoid flats as much as possible. Half my commute is on a 4 lane road with a big shoulder/bike lane which tends to accumulate junk (glass and little metal objects, etc). The tires have eaten up broken beer bottles and shot metal stuff across all 4 lanes before. No flats yet.

They are heavy, though, and if I was just doing recreational/fitness rides, I wouldn't use them.
