Alcoholic beverage survey - Just curious

The cyclists I've known seem to be a singularly Dry group. Beer, wine, and booze (to me all other ethanol based beverages) seem to be unknown in their conversations. Yet a search of old posts gives quite an array of potables. I'd like to see what people drink at all not just how much of it.

I drink wine, mostly. I have a drink or two most days, but usually not more than that. I like gin and tonics sometimes, too.

Zero alcohol of any kind. Not even Niquil. It's a religion thing.
A cold soda, Gatorade, Koolaid, water, milk, juice, etc. are all good.

I don't drink ... at least not often.

I drank wine every so often when I was in France in August (after all ... it was France!) but before that ..... I think it was a couple years since I had anything. I also haven't had anything since I got back, nor will I. Even the least expensive alcoholic beverage is too expensive (waste of money) for me right now.

I should have put this in my original post. I may live in Wine Country but I imbibe perhaps twice a month. Heck, I work at a winery and can get good stuff at 1/2 even 1/10 of what you pay for it and I still seldom drink. Beer a few times a year and hard stuff once every year or two, when free. The wife and I generally stay with late harvest and sweet wines so we get the same flavor at a fraction of the cost.

I am a huge fan of brew pubs and micro brews In fact there is nothing I like better than a nice pub crawl However I live in a dry county in the bible belt none the less So there aren't too many of those nice brew pubs around. I also enjoy a decent glass of wine with dinner every now and again. And I wouldn't turn my nose up at a nice glass of single malt or a snifter of decent brandy. I think that alcohol in moderation is fine and in some cases may actually be healthy I consider myself to be a social drinker...I would say maybe 2 drinks a week average.

Beer, wine, port, mead, hard liquor - I drink it all. Not a lot - maybe 1-2X a week.

No alcohol during the week.

Weekends (by volume):
Tequila, Jägermeister, spiced rum, various girly drinks (Hpnotiq, etc.), and beer (just a little bit).

Can't stand beer. Sometimes a VO with ice water on the side.

A pint of JD black label will usually get me through most rides. But for those longer all day marathon lost in the woods epics, I have to pack a fifth or the trip just becomes a drag.

I'll drink Charles Shaw (2 Buck Chuck) when I'm low on cash.
I'll drink New Castle when the money's flowin.
I'll drink Jim Beam and Coke when I want to forget about life for a little while.
I'll smoke pot when I want to forget everything.
But on those very special occasions, Everclear and tonic.

I'm a coffeeholic. When I've had my fill of caffine, I switch to water. Dr.Pepper is my soft drink of choice, I love it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. When I dirnk... 1-2 drinks, it's dark beer or beefeater & tonic.

I much prefer 'oregano' for the head.

I don't like how I feel when I start getting tipsy. I'll have one or two at a sitting; it's rare that I'll have more. This works out to about five a week lately. At my most social, I'll have twelve a week. For my weight, that's not much. I'm thinking about trying to drop a few pounds, so I might dial that back to three a week or less.

I won't drink light beer, rum and diet Coke, or any other low-cal booze. If I'm going to corrupt the experience, I might as well drink a diet soda, juice, or water.

I drink alcohol very seldom.

At a holiday get-together with friends, I may have a beer. At a nice Mexican restaraunt, maybe a marguarita.

Just never something I really got in to.

An ice cold Mojito hits the spot on a hot summer evening at times. Other than that a heineken once in a while. Mostly alot of H2O with 10% fruit juice for flavor.

One beer a week. My family is ripe with alcoholics. No need to temp fate.
Though I do love a good beer.
