Get a new father. Either that or have him drive you to school.
Patch kits only cost a couple of dollars. As does a tube and tire levers.

Yeah, I can tell that school is very important to you.

what do you mean he said no. who says know to that question, tell him its six bucks, and that those six bucks will be cheaper than him driving you too school everyday till the tube magically repairs its self.

1) WALK to the bicycle shop.
2) BUY a patch kit or tube yourself.
3) WALK home.
4) Change the tire.

Take some responsibility for your own stuff.

And if he complains, explain how the patch kit ($2) cost less than the gas to take you to school and back.

Park Tool, Specialized and a few others sell the same glueless patch kit with their own logos on them. They're all I use and I've had them last me for months at a time. That's surely enough time to find a new dad as someone suggested.

Well, the kid is 13, he might not have any money to buy a tube or patch kit.

With that being said, we are only hearing his side of the story. It could be possible that dad said no to going at that time. His dad might be busy doing something and can't leave to go to the lbs and get a tube. We might want to give the dad the benefit of the doubt right now.

If you are really in need to get it fixed now, call a buddy or ask a neighbor and try to borrow their patch kit.

What size tubes do you need? I'll send you one of my old take offs if its the correct size. Heck I know it won't help you now but next time you need one you'll have some. :) If I saw you on the side of the road with a flat and I had a tube that fit I'd give it to you anyways I carry one old tube just for that reason all the time..

You can get a job at the age of 12 these days.

Ride the bike on the rims and when you destroy those, he'll have to get you a whole new wheel. Teach the old man a lesson in preventative maintanence.

Post this on the SoCal Forum and ask if there's a kind soul nearby who'll help you fix your flat...

Retro Grouch 09-28-07 10:33 AM

Have you been shooting at your bike tire with an M-16? I'd have said "No." too.

What's the problem?

Honest Abe Lincoln walked 5 miles to school in the snow every day. And he didn't even have a coat or boots.
